LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
Peratallada, a locality in the municipality of Forallac (Baix Empordà), is a charming village (1) in the interior of the region and which stands out for the richness of its heritage and scenery (2). Its numerous examples of medieval art and architecture have led to it being declared a historic-artistic monument (Patrimony of National Cultural Interest; BCIN) (3).

WHAT TO DO
Peratallada’s medieval archaeological remains, which show the importance of the town in previous times, are unmissable. As is discovering the surrounding area through adventure activities.
The historical centre of Peratallada is an open door to its medieval past with remains of Romanesque and Gothic buildings which stand testament to a past period of splendour: the walls, the castle, the clock tower, the Entrance Gate of the Virgin or the church of Sant Esteve are beautiful examples.
MOUNTAIN BIKE AND HIKING ROUTES
Those who want to discover the surrounding area for themselves, either through adventure activities or on foot, have various mountain bike routes and signposted trails to go hiking available… or they could go by horse.
Framed inside the culinary tradition of the Empordà, the cuisine of Peratallada (through its restaurants) stands out for its tapas prepared with fish, its risottos, duck carpaccio, butifarra de perol (Catalan sausage), battered prawns or acorn-fed Iberian ham. All of this washed down with a good wine produced in one of the region’s vineyards.
