Corçà is a village and municipality in the Baix Empordà region that is made up of the main village of Corçà, as well as the villages of Casavells, Cassà de Pelràs, and the neighbourhoods of Anyells and Planils.

The village of Corçà is mentioned for the first time in the year 878 in a precept of Louis the Stammerer, the Frankish king who ruled these lands. The document refers to one of the possessions of the Bishop of Girona under the name of Quartianum. In the documentation of the year 881 that confirms the bishop's possessions, the village is mentioned as Quertiano; later, in the 11th century, it is called Quarciano and finally, in the 17th century, it is called Corciano, written in Latin as Corsá and finally in Catalan as Corçà.

The parish church of Sant Julià and Santa Basilissa, documented in 1065, is a large 18th century building built on the site of an earlier Romanesque church from the 12th and 13th centuries, some parts of which still survive.
